- Claims based on random events. Claims must be designed so that their
prices could provide some information which is of value to people who
aren't trading the claim.
- Claims that can't be resolved soon enough. I don't want to commit to
keeping the market active for a long time until there are clear reasons to
expect that it will attract serious traders over much of that time period.
I currently require that all claims settle within 5 years. If the market
becomes succesful enough that it produces nontrivial advertising income,
I will relax that restriction significantly.
- Certain areas where I arbitrarily decline to inform myself well enough
to take any responsibility for judging:
- Sports claims.
- Hollywood/entertainment/celebrities.
- Claims which could require knowledge of a language other than English
to judge. The exchange will have a clear bias towards U.S.-oriented claims.
